3D-Scan / Photogrammetry
After some weeks of experimentation and testing I finally have finalized a 3D scan setup which offers me the quality results I’m looking for. This photogrammetry setup is based on cross-polarized lighting which not only helps producing extremely fine models but also flat, reflection-free textures.
Besides the actual scan procedure I also figured out a workflow for optimzing the scanned data. This way the resulting models have a proper mesh and all textures can be easily applied to the model in any rendering software.
As a fitting example I scanned this japanese tea cup and additionally modeled that detailed bamboo mat for the scene.
